Cyanogen 9 mod on Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GSM)

Today I started doing something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, getting ICS (Android Ice Cream Sandwich) on my Galaxy Tab. I’ve been really looking forward to getting this from Samsung, but I’ve been waiting and waiting, so now I got tired and decided to try with a non-original ROM.

Shutdown/reboot on a remote desktop

So, you need to reboot your remote desktop computer from work or some other place, and all that startmenu’s got for you is a damn Logout button. What do you do?

Well it’s actually quite simple.

Open up cmd.exe from the startmenu or via the run command.

Use the following commands to reboot or shut down:

  • Shutdown: “shutdown -f”
  • Reboot: “shutdown -r -f”

iOS5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch next week – upgrade now if you want!

It’s been a long time in the making, though Apple have finally announced the release of iOS 5 just 1 day shy of Steve Jobs death.

Among the new features is a notification center, iMessage for cross-platform messaging across all iOS devices and a tabbed browser.

You can upgrade now by using the Gold Master (release candidate) by following the instructions on Lifehacker: Upgrade to iOS 5 Right Now

I’m itching to get my hands on it, though I’m going to play it safe and wait until the 12th of October, which is the official release date.

Have you tried out the GM or are you waiting for the official release?   Please leave your thoughts and experiences in the comments below!
